Fri, Aug 6, 7-11 PM: The music of Alfonso Ponticelli is a vibrant, upbeat and passionate blend of American Jazz, Gypsy jazz, Flamenco and world folk music threaded together through virtuosic improvisation.
Ponticelli has shared his music at many prestigious festivals, including the Django Reinhardt festival in Samois, France.
Coming from a musical family rooted in Italian music and American folk, all four siblings grew up singing and playing guitar. At times Ponticelli can be seen performing with his children on guitar or sister Elvira who currently sings with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (20 plus years).
