Brookdale offers a peaceful retreat centered around an 11-acre lake, perfect for walking, fishing, or enjoying a quiet day outdoors. Explore a 1-mile loop around the lake, observe wildlife from the deck, or walk through a former pine plantation.
The Paulson Road entrance provides a picnic shelter, restrooms, and a paved 0.25-mile trail to a handicap-accessible fishing pier and small dam where a pond feeds into the North Branch of the Kishwaukee River. Horseback riders can appreciate trailer parking for up to 10 trailers and easy access to the 6.15-mile multi-use trail.
Visitors may also enjoy a reservable picnic shelter. Contact the McHenry County Conservation District for more info here.
