Explore a serene 25-acre natural oasis in Woodstock at Hennen Conservation Area. Originally farmland, this property was transformed starting in the 1970s by Phyllis and Tony Hennen, who planted thousands of native hardwoods. Protected by a conservation easement in 2008 and donated to the City of Woodstock in 2009, the site is now a public park managed in partnership with The Land Conservancy of McHenry County (TLC).
Visitors can wander approximately two miles of trails through wildflower meadows, towering oak groves, and peaceful woodland areas. A tranquil pond hosts ducks, turtles, and frogs, making it an ideal destination for nature walks, wildlife observation, and quiet reflection.
