Each year, visitors gather on the historic Woodstock Square to see Woodstock Willie, the town’s beloved groundhog, make his famous forecast and enjoy a weekend packed with themed activities, movie moments, live entertainment and plenty of small-town charm.

Groundhog Day Prognostication

Will he see his shadow or won’t he? Gather in the Park in the Square on February 2 for Woodstock Willie’s official Prognostication. Enjoy live music from the polka band, festive fanfare, and plenty of photo-worthy moments. And don't forget your booties ‘cuz it’s cold out there.

Welcoming of the Groundhog

Woodstock Willie will make a grand appearance to officially kick off the weekend’s Groundhog Days festivities. The event takes place in the Old Courthouse Center on the Square. Don’t miss this chance to see Woodstock’s beloved groundhog up close and start the celebration with fun and excitement.

Guided Film Site Walking Tour

Dress warmly and join us at the Woodstock Opera House for a fun and informative tour of the iconic “Groundhog Day” filming locations. The tour will conclude at the Cherry Tree Inn B&B where Bill Murray’s character woke up each morning.

'Drink to World Peace' Toast

Join in a festive movie-themed toast at the Squire on the Square bar where Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell toasted to world peace! Raise your glass in honor of the moment, and take home a souvenir shot glass to remember the fun.

Groundhog Day Dinner Dance

No festival is complete without great food! Join us for the Groundhog Day Dinner Dance at the Woodstock Moose where the bachelor auction and dance scenes were filmed in the movie. The night features food, live music, raffles and silent auctions.
