Inspired by community leader and cancer survivor; Steve Gavers, the Gavers Community Cancer Foundation was founded 21 years ago to make a difference in the fight against cancer.
The Barndance is a hallmark annual community event in McHenry County with a team consisting of 100% volunteers that has raised more than $8 million in the fight against cancer. Dubbed the “Best 7 Hours of Summer,” the event celebrates survivorship and brings the community together to support a common cause.
Since 2000, the Foundation has raised over $8.3 Million dollars benefiting Family Health Partnership Clinic, Northwestern Medicine, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Luries Children’s Hospital, The Testicular Cancer Foundation and the Brian Piccolo Cancer Research Fund at Rush University Medical Center.
Barndance takes place on July 17th from 5pm to Midnight
in Emricson Park in Woodstock, IL.
The 7 best hours of summer is a 21+ event and all attendees and volunteers must purchase tickets to attend. The evening features three live acts and BBQ dinner included in the ticket price. Beverages are available for purchase. The music on July 17th rocks and guests will jam and dance the night away being entertained by ‘Just Janet & I’, Infinity and Libido Funk Circus.
Tickets are $50 each and can ONLY be purchased ONLINE! Tickets sales conclude on July 7th. Take advantage of the 4 for 3 deal and save $50. General admission ticket holders can bring blankets and/or portable chairs. Reserved tables are available by becoming a sponsor. Sponsorship and underwriting is needed and available.
