John McGivern’s Main Streets to Feature Thirteen Midwest Communities in New Season

MILWAUKEE, WIJohn McGivern’s Main Streets is excited to announce the communities featured in an all-new second season of the show that debuts on January 19, 2023, at 7:00pm on all PBS Wisconsin stations. Episodes will also drop every Thursday for 13 weeks on the free PBS app and on YouTube.

John McGivern’s Main Streets is a destination travel show that features six-time Emmy award-winning actor and host John McGivern as he visits a different Midwest community in each episode. He talks to small business entrepreneurs, restaurateurs, and factory owners to showcase each community through its people. John also reveals a bit about each community’s history, unique landmarks, and popular spots to visit.

Season two continues McGivern’s exploration of six Upper Midwest states: Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, and Indiana. The new season also welcomes his new co-host Emmy Fink, former host of Discover Wisconsin and Outdoor Wisconsin.

This season of John McGivern’s Main Streets includes visits to:
-Lincoln Square and Woodstock, IL
-Bloomington and Winona, MN
-Fort Wayne and Goshen, IN
-Escanaba and Holland, MI
-Amana Colonies and Iowa City, IA
-Dodgeville and De Pere, WI, and Milwaukee’s Menomonee River Valley

The second season of John McGivern’s Main Streets also marks McGivern’s comeback to public television two years after the final season of Around the Corner With John McGivern – the Emmy Award-winning series that followed McGivern’s travels to different Wisconsin communities. In its nine seasons, McGivern visited more than 100 communities and neighborhoods throughout the state.

McGivern is very pleased to be back on PBS stations. “It just feels right. I’ve always really believed in the mission of PBS. Working with PBS Wisconsin has been a joy in the past, and this closer partnership is something I’ve wanted for a long time. Not to mention that I know a lot of PBS viewers who will be so happy to get back into their old Thursday night routines – including me!”

PBS Wisconsin is proud to welcome John back to both their air and streaming platforms. The show has been offered to additional PBS stations in Milwaukee, Chicago, Minneapolis, Iowa, Indiana, and Michigan.
